How long have you lived in Dover? 7 years

Have you served on any boards, councils or committees? Joint Building Committee,
Master Plan Committee, Waterfront Design Sub-Committee in Dover. In Manchester, Music At The Heart Of It Committee (Chamber of Commerce).

As Dover becomes a more desirable place to live, how can the city keep it an
affordable place for low-income residents?

As more people move to our City it is important to remember the Master Plan and the Speak-Out sessions where the Citizens clearly indicated to keep "Dover's Small Town Appeal". We have to support ourselves as a community and not fund special interests. Public safety is my number one concern. We should maintain that if you want something, do it, do not come to the taxpayers for their money.

What have you accomplished for Dover that you are most proud of and what would
you like to accomplish if you are elected?

I am proud of the Citizens that came to City Hall to state they would NOT permit Tolend Road Landfill to reopen. I am proud to advocate for open government, and presenting a resolution releasing Confidential Documents coming to the Council on issues up for vote. Subsequently, Confidential opinions slowed considerably. We were not permitted to refer
to the actual information used that may have substantiated some votes. There are NARROW exceptions, but no one source should have the elected representatives ear. I want to work on private road, senior exemption and impact issues for some examples.

What is an important environmental issue facing Dover?

Water. I understand, from what I have heard in commentaries and read, that there will be a shortage of water in NH in about 10 years due to increased demand, mostly due to population increase and commercial bottling. Dover has great water, but we continually monitor where underground tanks once were, Tolend Landfill has leachate... Redi-mix intends on moving into Pike Industries in Madbury close to our aquifers. We need to remain alert, active and informed, if any state/city restrictions seem lenient, we should
tighten them.

What is the most recent cultural or artistic event that you have attended in Dover?

Apple Harvest Fest, Dover Night Out, Factory on Fire are the ones that come to mind.

What type of new businesses would you like to see come to Dover?

I would love a Trader Joes type.

Do you support a tax cap for Dover?

If re-elected I will thoughtfully support what the Citizens vote for. I will serve them, that is what they expect from me. As a Citizen, I plan on voting for the Charter Amendment to have a tax cap for Dover.

Dover has a growing art community. What can the city do to support arts and artists?

I am a musician and would like to see a jam-night/talent show like they do at Hampton Beach, and/or have art in one of our buildings on a rotating basis (Library, McConnell...). I do not think this should cost the taxpayers. If you (singular) or I want something, then we should do it. The City should not prevent growth in this area, but support it and grant
appropriate permits where and when appropriate.
