The Newburyport Art Association opened registration for winter classes during the first week of November so that courses can be given as holiday gifts. Registration will close the second week in December. Courses for adults include “Get Brave! Get Color!” with Lisa Reinke, Tuesday evenings, Jan. 23-Feb. 27; “Drawing from Scratch” with Alan Bull, Thursday mornings, Jan. 25-March 1; “Illustrating Children’s Books: The Process” with Susan Spellman, Thursday evenings, Jan. 25-March 1; “Life Sculpture: High and Low Relief” with Marilyn Coon, Thursday evenings, Jan. 25-March 1; “Botanical Paintings in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolor” with Beverly Mitchell, Friday mornings, Jan. 26-March 2; and “Watercolor” with Bill Duke, Saturday mornings, Jan. 20-Feb. 24. Prices range from $120 to $150.

Courses for youth include “Introduction to Printmaking” with Barbara Nachmias-Kedesdy, for grades 4-8, Thursday afternoons, Jan. 25-Feb. 15; and “Children’s Drawing and Painting” with Beverly Mitchell, for ages 7-14, Wednesday afternoons, Jan. 24-Feb. 28. Prices range from $90-$95.
